Principal's Message

Dear Truman Community,

Truman Campus is a great school. Though we are one campus, we offer multiple opportunities for innovative and flexible learning. If you are seeking a different way to learn, we might have the right program for you!

Internet Academy is a K-12 online school for everyone. Scholars study from home and take classes through Canvas and Zoom. Zoom classes meet daily for elementary school and once per week for each class in grades 6-12. Scholars study independently for 5-6 hours each day.

Career Academy is an innovative Big Picture Learning high school for scholars who want to learn through projects and internships. Scholars develop competencies through pursuing projects of their own design. They intern in the community twice a week. They present their learning in Exhibitions to their family, advisor, and mentor.

Open Doors is a high school re-engagement program for scholars ages 16-21 who want to graduate. We are a Big Picture Learning school with a flexible schedule. Scholars can demonstrate competencies for graduation inside and outside of class. We also offer a GED program and we partner with community organizations to help scholars work through barriers that might get in the way of attending a traditional high school.

Truman staff are here to help your scholar have a positive learning experience and plan for life after high school. Please contact us if you would like more information. Thank you for your interest in and support!

Respectfully,

Lynn Herink
